If you’re just tuning in, this is the fourth installment of a five-part series elucidating the ways we can each do our part to bring about change, and our responsibility to do so.
We’ve explored already the questions of “Who am I?” and “What do I stand for?”, and today I implore you to ask yourself:
To what extent are you, individually, doing your part to catalyze change?
Contrary to popular belief, meditation is not about escape from reality—it’s about becoming more dynamic and capable in everyday life.
The most helpful thing to a person who is struggling is someone who is struggling less.
When we close our eyes and allow our mantra to take us beyond thought, to a level of profoundly deep rest deeper than the deepest phases of sleep, we dissolve deeply held stress at a cellular level.
As we transcend stress reactivity thoughts, quiet the mind further and connect to our deeper Self, the Self that is connected with everyone and everything else, we begin to receive subtle inspiration as to where our efforts are most needed, in the form of a spontaneous desirable pulsation toward a specific action.
When we emerge, our psychophysiology is less stressed and loaded up with potential energy.
Potential is the key word.
It’s on us to actualize that potential and take our increasingly capable minds and bodies into action, availing ourselves to the many stressed out people surrounding us.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the state of the world and like effort is futile, Vedic Meditation is the ticket to top up your energy reserve and give you the inspiration you need to start making change as well as the guidance to help you focus your efforts.
If you’re ready to take the plunge and move beyond the victim mindset of stress reactivity into the catalyst mindset of dynamic capability, I’m holding an intro talk on Zoom this Sunday, February 9th at 8AM LA / 11AM MIA / 4PM LIS, where I’ll explain how Vedic Meditation works and answer any questions you may have.
You can book a spot in the talk here.
If you’re already meditating, sharing the link with others who may benefit is a great way to start making yourself relevant.
As they say in the air, we put our own oxygen masks on first, so we can assist others—not so we can live while they choke and die.
Let’s discuss these and other ideas during Collective Effervescence, our online group meditation series, this Sunday February 9 at 12PM ET. Drop in for meditation only (first 30 min) or stay for discussion + Q&A on this and other life topics from the Vedic perspective. Join the WhatsApp group to receive reminders 24 hours before each session, or use the below links to have all upcoming dates automatically sync to your calendar.
